Driving Test Grabber is a Chrome extension that helps you find and book an earlier UK driving test on the official DVSA booking service. This policy explains exactly what the extension does with your information.
In short: your driving licence number and booking reference stay on your own computer and are never sent to us. We do collect anonymous diagnostics about how far the automation gets, so we can find and fix the steps that break.

Information kept only on your device
The following is saved in your browser's local extension storage. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:

Removing the extension from Chrome erases all of it.
Diagnostics we collect
To find and fix bugs, the extension reports which step of the booking journey it reached
and where it stopped. A typical report looks like

These reports contain no driving licence number, booking reference, name, email address, test centre or appointment details. Our servers additionally discard any field outside a short permitted list before the data is stored, so this holds even if the extension is modified.
Each installation generates a random identifier, stored on your device, which is attached to these reports so we can tell how many separate installations reached each step. It is not linked to your name or email address. Because that identifier is persistent, we treat this data as personal data under UK GDPR rather than claiming it is fully anonymous.
During the current beta, diagnostics are always on and there is no in-app setting to disable them. If you would prefer not to send them, remove the extension. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping a working product for this processing, and you can object at any time using the contact address above.
Account and payment
If you buy a licence you create an account with an email address, handled by Google Firebase Authentication. Payment is taken by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. We store only whether your account has paid.
Who processes your data
- Google (Firebase & Google Analytics) — hosting, authentication and diagnostics. See Google's privacy policy.
- Stripe — payment processing.
Diagnostics are processed on Google Cloud servers in the United States, so this data leaves the UK. Those transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, which Google provides.
What we never do
- We never sell or share your personal information.
- We never read pages other than the DVSA booking service and the GOV.UK “book / change your driving test” pages.
- We never transmit your licence number or booking reference off your device.
How long we keep it
Data on your device lasts until you remove the extension. Diagnostics are retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months. Account records are kept for as long as your account exists.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU you have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email us and we will action your request. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect we will update this page and the “last updated” date above.
